So How Do We Know Who Can Safely
Undergo ETS Surgery?

The simple answer is we don't. This procedure is so unpredictable it is like playing Russian Roulette with your life. Although this procedure does a great job in stopping your hands from sweating, it is all the new medical conditions and impairments you will now have which vary significantly from one patient to the next.
At present, ETS surgery is carried out on people of all walks of life with absolutely no testing of their biological or anatomical makeup, and this is where the problem ultimately lies. Not everyone is suitable for ETS surgery because our nervous systems are all wired slightly differently, and at this point in time there is no way of knowing what the exact outcome of anyone's surgery is going to be. You simply wake from surgery and whatever damage and impairments you now have is what you have to live with for the rest of your life. There is no going back. This surgery is permanent.
For a lucky few, they get great results and are extremely happy with the outcome. For others, the damage may be minimal and they can carry on living a relatively normal life. However, for everybody else, the side-effects usually require a lifetime of medication, lifestyle changes and long term mental health support.
