Brain Fog

A very common complaint from those who have had ETS surgery is what's known as Brain Fog. Put simply, this is not being able to think as clearly as you did before the surgery. Your thoughts are muddled and don't come together quite as quickly as they used to.

This alone will have a dramatic affect on your life if you are one of those who wake from surgery with this condition. And unfortunately most of the time this condition occurs, it doesn't get reported because the patient is now less likely able to articulate exactly what is happening. And combined with a handful of other side-effects, it just gets lost in the mix. I'm sure ETS surgeons aren't forthcoming in reporting this about patients they have just worked on either.

One particular patient I was reading about recently was a qualified accountant and could no longer continue this line of work after ETS. His cognitive skills had been reduced so much that the only type of employment he was able to do included menial tasks such as washing dishes and unskilled labor.
